Dr. Prama Roy is a second-generation settler of Bangladeshi Hindu origin. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Queen’s University (2025), situated on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat Peoples. Her graduate research and teaching spans nature-based bioremediation, environmental microbiology, environmental DNA molecular workflows (isolation, amplification, and sequencing), data analysis, ecotoxicology, risk assessment, organic geochemistry, and environmental forensics. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in All Our Chemicals Relations, developing educational material for chemical risk management professionals to support the inclusion of Indigenous knowledge and expertise in chemicals management.

She has volunteered with Akwe:kon (‘All of Us’ in Kanienʼkéha) youth programming through my local Native Friendship Centre and has participated in local Indigenous-led circles and ceremonies. She is passionate about anticolonial environmental education and stewardship, human and ‘more-than-human’ rights, geo-socio-political ethics, and advancing Indigenous justice through respectful, relational, reciprocal, and responsible engagement with communities.
